FATIH CULTURE CENTER

2010-2012

Tabanlioglu Architects

This project was commissioned by Fatih Municipality as a culture center. The design brief included a full fledged opera stage as well as a theatre stage and other smaller venues. The project is located on the historical peninunsula of Istanbul, and a strict height limit was imposed on the project on the initial design. The linear aspect of the plan layout is derived from the plot which the municipality has allocated. My role in the project as a junior architect was to help create the interior designs of the main common area, and the hall designs of the opera and theatre stages. I created the final 3d model and 3d renderings of the completed design. The project documentation was completed in 2012, but the construction was put on hold due to changes in administration.
