ASTANA MEDIA CENTER

2010-2011

Tabanlioglu Architects

Commissioned by the Kazakhstan Government, Astana Media Center was designed (by Tabanlioglu Architects) as a central building for both the production spaces (studios, stages) and the administrative offices of all the state tv channels in Kazakhstan. The mixed-use building houses several TV stages, production facilities, a 1000 person multi-use theater and an office complex. Design work started in 2010 and the building was completed in 2011. My role in the project was to act an assistant designer and help the design development team flesh out the concept design. I was tasked to initially redesign the office tower, and create interior concept designs of all the common spaces of the building, including the entrance hall, the studio hallway and the multi-use theatre.
